Hyderabad, February 10 (IANS): K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, declared on Friday that the distribution of 11.5 lakh acres of podu land to tribal groups around the state would start by the end of the month.
He assured the state Legislative Assembly that in addition to giving the tribal people who work these lands “pattas” (titles), his administration will also expand the advantages of the farmer investment assistance program Rythu Bandhu and offer power.
He did, however, make it plain that there would be no podu land after this procedure was over, and that the beneficiaries’ pattas would be revoked if they attempted to infringe on forest area.
The Chief Minister stated that people receiving pattas will be required to sign a formal agreement renouncing any future claims to forest land.

The issue would be permanently resolved with the distribution of podu lands this year, according to KCR, the Chief Minister, and the government will take decisive action to conserve trees. He stated that the state government would set up armed soldiers patrolling once the boundaries of the forests were fixed.
