August 9, Amaravati/Bengaluru (SocialNews.XYZ) To lessen friction between humans and elephants in some areas of the state, the Karnataka government has decided to transfer eight Kumki elephants to Andhra Pradesh.

As requested by Andhra Pradesh, the Karnataka Forest Department will dispatch the trained Kumki elephants to alleviate the chaos produced by wild elephants that injure crops and assault people.

The choice was made on Thursday in Bengaluru after a meeting between Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre and Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Karnataka has previously dispatched Kumki elephants to states like Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh, according to Khandre.

Following the meeting, media representatives were informed by Environment and Forests Portfolio Holder Pawan Kalyan that the two states had decided to collaborate on the preservation of red sander, woods, and wildlife. He claimed that after discussing seven issues, the parties came to an arrangement in a memorandum.

He claimed that they talked about turning over red sander that was seized in Karnataka and belonged to Andhra Pradesh, valued at Rs 140 crore. He had nothing but admiration for the forest officials in Karnataka for being forthright in stating that the red sander they had taken belonged to Andhra Pradesh. Red sander valued at Rs 40 crore was confiscated this year, adding to the Rs 100 crore that was seized in 2017.

The issue of red sander cutting in Andhra Pradesh’s Sheshachalam forests was considered by both states.

According to Pawan Kalyan, he asked Karnataka forest officials to concentrate their efforts on stopping the smuggling of red sanders into other nations.

He claimed that Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and other areas are receiving imported red sander from Andhra Pradesh.
