Although Kanguva is a periodic movie, the performances are what really make this action fantasy stand out. Suriya excels in playing the dual roles of Kanga in the past and Francis in the present. Whether in intense action sequences or more poignant moments, his genuineness and commitment to both characters are clear. The film’s strongest element is Suriya’s dedication, which keeps viewers interested even when the plot veers off course.
Bobby Deol’s action as the antagonist Udhiran is good. Although the film doesn’t give him the screen time to make his character truly resonate, his portrayal of a menacing leader could have had a greater impact. Deol’s character doesn’t make an impression despite his presence. With a more restricted role, Disha Patani doesn’t really contribute much in the big picture. While Patani’s role feels underdeveloped and secondary, other lesser-known actors receive full action sequences
