Telangana’s Socio Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste survey report, which was presented to a Cabinet subcommittee on Sunday, revealed that 56.33% of the state’s population belongs to the backward classes. According to the survey, 10.45% of people are Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 17.43% are Scheduled Castes (SC). The percentage of people who belong to Other Castes (OC) is 15.79%. There are 1,99,85,767 members of the state’s Backward Classes (BC), including 35,76,588 BC Muslims. There are 37,05,929 ST people and 61,84,319 SC people. There are 44,21,115 OC residents in the state.
