The Union Budget 2026–27 and Indian Railways officials have announced a **three-way high-speed rail terminal at Shamshabad, making it a major hub for bullet train corridors connecting Hyderabad with other big cities.
Once built, this terminal will connect Shamshabad/Hyderabad to four major metropolitan regions, including Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai, via high-speed rail.
The goal is to provide rapid travel alternatives to flights and conventional trains, with travel times significantly reduced (for example, Hyderabad to Bengaluru in about 2 hours).
