Amaravati, June 3: Pawan Kalyan, the deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, stated on Wednesday that his backing of Telangana was never motivated by political expediency. The Jana Sena leader shared an old video clip of an interview with a television show on “X” the day after making heated comments at a news conference in Hyderabad after Telangana Police refused to provide permission for a public assembly. “I have long been committed to Telangana being a state. Along with Gaddar Garu and student leaders from Osmania University, I took part in the Telangana Samajika Nyaya Sabha in 2009 as the leader of the Praja Rajyam Party’s Yuva Rajyam youth wing. Telangana’s creation was opposed at the time by the Congress government, which was led by the late YSR Garu.
