Excessive fee collection by private and corporate educational institutions – ABVP

Nellore : Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ABVP has expressed deep anger over the fee exploitation of private and corporate educational institutions in Nellore. ABVP State Joint Secretary Dimple Raj Purohit has expressed her anger that many private schools and colleges in the city have turned education into a business and are charging lakhs of rupees in the name of books, uniforms and fees. She alleged that despite charging huge fees, they are not providing basic facilities and quality food in hostels and that poor parents who cannot pay fees are being harassed. She said that it is shameful that the authorities have not responded to these irregularities even after submitting petitions to the District Education Officer four times in the past. ABVP has warned that if strict action is not taken against the said educational institutions immediately, they will besiege the Education Office and launch a large-scale protest.
