Visakhapatnam :Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer called on the youth to take steps towards research, innovation and startups. The first convocation of JNTU JV was held at the AU Convention Hall in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The passing students of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 academic years were awarded degrees, and the meritorious students were awarded gold medals and endowment awards. The program was attended by AP Governor Nazir, VC VV. Subba Rao, Nirman Organization CEO Mayur Patnala, VCs and registrars of various universities, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetty Appalanaidu, and MLC Gade Srinivasulu Naidu. The Governor spoke on the occasion.Students should not be limited to just degrees: The Governor commented that students should not be limited to just degrees. He directed to develop employability skills in line with changing technology. He guided to use technologies like artificial intelligence, data science, and robotics for the welfare of the society. He said that teachers and educational institutions play a key role in shaping students as world-class citizens. He said that education is being provided with high educational standards at the JNTU JV campus. He revealed that necessary programs are being organized for the students. Water conservation is being implemented strictly: The Governor praised the strict implementation of water conservation on the campus. He gave a book saying that efforts are being made to make the university a ‘Net Zero Campus’ by banning single-use plastic and encouraging the use of electric vehicles across the campus. He praised the fact that civil engineering students, as summer interns, are completing the repairs and renovation work of hostel buildings themselves. Governor Nazir stated that the National Education Policy 2020 will provide education with creativity, critical thinking, and moral values.
