CM Chandrababu Naidu’s special focus on Visakha Economic Region project

Amaravati : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting on the Visakhapatnam Economic Region development plans at the State Secretariat on Wednesday. In this meeting, the CM directed the officials on several key issues. He said that the Visakhapatnam Economic Region project has been undertaken to attract investments of Rs. 9.50 lakh crore through key projects in various sectors. He revealed that the government is investing Rs. 3.50 to Rs. 4 lakh crore. He said that activities are being planned to generate Rs. 5.30 lakh crore from the private sector.

CM Chandrababu commented that the government is considering developing the Visakhapatnam region by keeping the Basety project as the anchor project. He clarified that the aim of the VER project is to develop the entire Visakhapatnam region through a micro-level plan. He ordered that development plans be prepared by considering each area and each sector within the VER scope. He said that the focus should be on the ecosystem of AI data centers, port-based industries, tourism, hydrogen, and clean-tech energy. The CM suggested that VER should be a part of the development from Moolapet Port to Rajahmundry Akhanda Godavari Project. CM Chandrababu made it clear that the Visakhapatnam Economic Region should achieve progress by connecting various projects. He suggested that development should be undertaken within the VER area through convergence of funds. He said that the VGF scheme should be implemented as required. CS Sai Prasad, senior officials of the Finance, Industries, Municipal Administration, Forest, Energy, and Tourism departments attended the review.
