We should work towards winning local body elections: CM Chandrababu

Amaravati: Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed TDP leaders to work towards winning the upcoming local body elections. He specifically discussed the local body polls at the TDP leadership conclave and said the elections should not be taken lightly. Chandrababu stressed the need for unity among the coalition partners and urged leaders to ensure that there are no differences within the party. He also suggested that effective women leaders should be identified in advance as candidates for seats reserved for women. Chandrababu said several problems had been resolved after the coalition government came to power. He expressed confidence that the people have a positive view of the government and that this sentiment would be reflected in the local body elections. He made it clear that his entire focus is on strengthening the party and securing victories in the upcoming elections. Chandrababu expressed confidence that the TDP-led alliance would achieve better results in the 2029 Assembly elections than it did in 2024. He said there was no doubt about this and added that he was allocating time every day to both party affairs and administration.

Targets for MLAs

Chandrababu said development works were being carried out by completing projects according to priority. He said the government was setting targets to attract investments while creating employment opportunities. He also advised MLAs to work with clear goals in their respective constituencies and identify 25 priority areas in each constituency. He said that implementing development programmes based on these priorities would help MLAs earn recognition and respect from the people.

Leadership Meetings Every Three Months

Chandrababu said such leadership meetings would be held once every three months. He advised TDP leaders to present the best practices and successful initiatives implemented by MLAs at the next meeting.
