The famed double-decker buses of Hyderabad, which were first introduced in 1946 under Nizam VII Mir Osman Ali Khan by the Nizam’s Transport Services, will return in an electric form. In two or three days, the HMDA intends to start deploying the new double-decker buses.

Six environmentally and energy-friendly double-decker buses, each costing Rs 2 crore, will navigate the crowds as they make their way to popular tourist destinations including the Golconda fort, Charminar, Hussainsagar, Qutub Shahi Tombs, and many more. It’s interesting to note that these 65-seater buses will run before to the Formula E race on February 11 in the city to attract attention from across the world.
