Andhra Pradesh IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh met senior leadership of global technology and consulting company Capgemini and invited the firm to set up an Information Technology development centre and a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Visakhapatnam.

During the meeting, Lokesh highlighted the state government’s vision to transform Visakhapatnam into a major technology and innovation hub on the eastern coast. He emphasized the availability of skilled talent, improving infrastructure, and the government’s proactive policies aimed at attracting global technology companies to Andhra Pradesh.

The minister urged Capgemini to explore investment opportunities in the city, noting that establishing a development centre and GCC would create significant employment opportunities for the youth and strengthen the region’s growing IT ecosystem.

Lokesh also assured the company of full support from the state government in terms of policy incentives, infrastructure facilitation, and ease of doing business. He said the government is committed to bringing leading multinational companies to Visakhapatnam as part of its broader strategy to expand the technology sector beyond traditional IT hubs.

Representatives of Capgemini appreciated the state’s efforts to promote the IT industry and expressed interest in exploring potential collaboration opportunities. If realized, the proposed centres are expected to further boost Visakhapatnam’s emergence as a key destination for global technology investments.
