Give notice to KCR immediately and take possession of the land.. Revanth orders

Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and members of his family during the Assembly session on Wednesday, alleging that they had benefited from and obstructed aspects of the Telangana movement and the Dharani land records system. Revanth Reddy also placed before the Assembly details of landholdings that he attributed to members of the KCR family. According to the Chief Minister, the family collectively holds around 440 acres of land.

He claimed that KCR and his wife own 67 acres, while four members of KTR’s family collectively hold 123 acres. The Chief Minister listed the alleged holdings as 49.5 acres in the name of KTR, 17.5 acres in the name of Shailima, 9.38 acres in the name of Alekhya and 46.3 acres in the name of Himanshu. Revanth Reddy further alleged that members of former minister T. Harish Rao’s family own around 30 acres, while members of K. Kavitha’s family hold 37 acres. He also claimed that Santosh Rao’s family owns 79 acres, Naveen Rao has 52 acres and Kondal Rao has 48 acres.

The Chief Minister announced that an inquiry would be conducted into the land surrounding KCR’s farmhouse at Erravelli in the Gajwel Assembly constituency. He directed officials to issue notices and complete the inquiry within 30 days. Revanth Reddy warned that action would be taken against officials if the inquiry was not carried out as directed. He instructed the district Collector to examine and settle the status of the land associated with the farmhouse. The Chief Minister claimed that around 700 acres were under the control of the farmhouse and said the government would take steps to recover land found to have been unlawfully occupied. He said such land would subsequently be distributed among the poor, with Scheduled Caste beneficiaries being given ownership wherever applicable.

He also directed officials to issue notices to KCR immediately and take further action based on the findings of the inquiry. Revanth Reddy also levelled allegations concerning properties linked to KTR and other members of the former government. He claimed that KTR’s farmhouse was situated on land connected to the Satyam Computer Services scam and alleged that the property had subsequently been transferred into the names of KTR’s relatives. The Chief Minister further alleged that roads leading to Harish Rao’s farmhouse were constructed using funds from the Siddipet Municipality. He also claimed that the farmhouse was located on land acquired for irrigation purposes. Revanth Reddy alleged that members of Harish Rao’s family had acquired around 120 acres in Balanagar, Hyderabad, and claimed that people affected by the alleged land transactions were reluctant to approach authorities with complaints. The allegations made by the Chief Minister in the Assembly are expected to trigger a political response from the BRS leadership.
