Eluru : Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu has revealed that CM Chandrababu Naidu has set a target to complete the ECRF dam works by March 2027. On Thursday, he inspected the Polavaram project works, the lifeblood of Andhra Pradesh state, at the field level. On this occasion, he inspected the ECRF dam works and inquired about the progress of the works from the project officials. Later, Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said that the right connectivity works will be completed by the end of this month and the left connectivity works by November.

He said that the right and left bank connection work undertaken at a cost of Rs. 536 crore is underway. He reminded that 10,491 acres of land have been acquired after June 2024. He explained that Rs. 2,250 crore compensation has been provided to the displaced persons. He was angry that not a single acre of land was acquired during the five-year rule of the previous YSRCP. He also said that not a single rupee of compensation was provided to the displaced persons of the project. He expressed anger at the party leaders for diverting the reimbursement funds of Rs. 3,850 crore given by the Center without spending it on the project.

He expressed anger at the YSRCP leaders for destroying the irrigation sector in the last five years and causing serious damage to the farmers. Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu announced that the inauguration ceremonies of irrigation projects will be held in the next three years. He clarified that the coalition government has fulfilled a decades-long dream by completing the Handreeniva, Veligonda and Polavaram left canals and releasing water, as previously announced. He stated that CM Chandrababu Naidu has set a target of completing 36 projects worth Rs 35,000 crore in the next three years.
