Amaravati : A greenfield shipyard is to be set up in Dugarajapatnam in AP. The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed an agreement with MDL to this effect. This MoU was signed in the presence of AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. This project will provide employment opportunities to 45 thousand people with an investment of Rs. 15,000 crore. This greenfield shipyard has a capacity to build 12 lakh tons of ships per year.

Meanwhile, the 21st State Level Investment Promotion Board meeting was held today (Friday) at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of CM Chandrababu. In this meeting, the CM discussed investments related to a total of 29 industrial projects. There are chances of approving projects related to investments worth about Rs. 22 thousand crores in the SIPB meeting. This will provide jobs to about 20 thousand people. In the 20 SIPB meetings held so far, 359 projects have been approved. Investments worth Rs. 13.84 lakh crores and job opportunities for 10.59 lakh people will be provided. Ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharat, Angani Satya Prasad, Vasamsetty Subhash, P. Narayana, Kandula Durgesh, Gottipati Ravikumar, BC Janardhan Reddy, CS Sai Prasad, and secretaries of the Industries, IT, and I&I departments attended the SIPB meeting.
