Hyderabad : A key development has taken place in Telangana politics. The Telangana High Court has issued a key verdict disqualifying Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender. The court, which took up the hearing on the petitions filed by MLAs Padi Kaushik Reddy and Yeleti Maheshwar Reddy, opposing Danam Nagender contesting the Assembly elections on behalf of BRS and the Lok Sabha elections on behalf of Congress, gave this verdict.

The High Court bench that heard these petitions reserved its verdict on August 21. The latest verdict was delivered by a bench comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin. The court’s verdict on the disqualification of Danam Nagender has sparked interest in the subsequent political and legal developments. The petitioners mainly mentioned issues like Danam changing parties and contesting the Lok Sabha elections on behalf of the Congress in their arguments. The legal process began in 2024 itself to decide on the Danam disqualification petitions. Then the matter went on till the Speaker’s Tribunal’s decision and the High Court’s hearing on it.
