MP Eatala Slams Congress, Says It Is “Making a Mockery of Democracy”

New Delhi : BJP MP Eatala Rajender said that if his party had tampered with votes, as alleged by the Congress, it would have secured 400 Lok Sabha seats instead of being restricted to 240 seats. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Rajender also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that people were rejecting his remarks. He accused the Congress of making a mockery of Indian democracy. The BJP MP said the term ‘SIR’ was not new in the country and recalled that EVMs were introduced during the tenure of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He further stated that VVPATs were introduced by the Narendra Modi-led government. Rajender’s remarks came amid the ongoing political debate over electoral processes and allegations related to electronic voting machines.
