Hyderabad, Dec 9 (NSS) :
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said December 9 will go down in history for unveiling the statue of Telangana Talli on the Secretariat premises. Addressing the meeting after unveiling the statue, the Chief
Minister said the history and culture of Telangana was ridiculed for many years and it was Dec 9 will go down in history : CM Revanth projected on the wrong note. He said that in the days when the
Telangana movement was in full swing, everyone wrote ‘TG’ and the same was written on vehicles
and offices. But, the previous government didn’t allow ‘TG’ letters, but by using TS, it hurt the sentiments
of the people, Revanth Reddy said. “We have changed ‘TS’ to ‘TG’ according to the aspirations of the
people. In the days of the movement, ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’ was heard everywhere. But after the formation of the state, that song did not get respect. That is why we have declared ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’ as the state anthem,” he disclosed. He further stated Telangana Thalli was discriminated against for ten years. Recognising the sacrifices of many poets and artists, who were the backbone of the Telangana movement and enthralled the agitation with their songs, the State government has decided to extend all the help in the days to come. As part of its endeavour, the government will allocate 300 square yards of land in Future City and Rs. 1 crore in cash to the sculpture of Telangana Talli, Ekka Yadagiri, the
Chief Minister announced.
