Vijayawada :The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has revealed sensational facts in the disappearance case of rowdy sheeter Gade Sai Krishna of Krishna Lanka in Vijayawada. It told the court that Sai Krishna may have died due to torture while in custody at the Krishna Lanka Police Station. It initially suspected that there was an attempt to destroy the body and destroy evidence. Sai Krishna’s mother accused the court of misleading the court by giving false information without telling the truth during the hearing of the habeas corpus petition. It said that evidence was found in the preliminary investigation that Sai Krishna, who was absconding in old cases and was being tortured at the Krishna Lanka station, was detained in Markapuram and tortured. Former Krishna Lanka CI S.S.V.V. Nagaraju explained his involvement to the court in the remand report. Three days ago, the state government formed a special investigation team led by IG Ravi Prakash to find out the truth in this case that created a sensation across the state. After the preliminary inquiry, the investigating officer Sudhakar, who visited the Krishna Lanka police station, registered a case against CI Nagaraju under sections BNS-103(1), illegal detention-127(4), illegal detention-127(6), destruction of evidence-238. Since non-bailable warrants were pending against Gade Saikrishna (25) of Krishna Lanka at Machavaram and Krishna Lanka police stations, the Vijayawada Task Force police identified him in Markapuram and arrested him at around 3 am on May 5. From there, he was brought to Vijayawada and handed over to the sentry constable at around 7 am on May 6. CI Nagaraju, who was supposed to produce the accused before the magistrate within 24 hours, did not do so.

When Saikrishna’s mother came to know about this, she went to the police station and asked the CI. She told the SIT that she had been verbally abused. At the same time, she said that she heard her son’s cries and that he had lost consciousness for some time. The SIT submitted her statement to the court that she had seen him with serious injuries in the lock-up. Saikrishna’s aunt Kanakadurga (lawyer) went to the station several times until May 8 and asked, but the CI gave inconsistent answers. When a habeas corpus petition was filed in the High Court, the court was also misled without telling the truth. During their investigation, the SIT told the court that Saikrishna was in the Krishna Lanka Police Station from May 6 to 8, according to the statements of the police station staff and other eyewitnesses. The SIT examined 17 witnesses in this case.
