The state government’s ambitious ‘Mahalaxmi: Free Bus Travel Facility for Women’ scheme has received an overwhelming response from women commuters. Within 11 days of the launch of the scheme, a record number of three crore women traveled on TSRTC buses. On average, 30 lakh women traveled every day. The corporation is safely transporting 51 lakh people every day, including men, to their destinations, and 62% of the passengers are women as a result of the free travel scheme for women.
