Hyderabad : Telangana Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has made it clear that the first priority will be given to the hut dwellers in the second phase of Indiramma houses. He held a review with senior officials of the Housing Department on Indiramma houses in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He instructed the officials to conduct a special survey to identify the huts across the state. He said that a field inspection will be conducted on the applications of 75 thousand huts. He said that the selection of eligible people will be carried out with complete transparency. Minister Ponguleti announced that another opportunity will be given to the hut dwellers who did not apply for Indiramma houses. He explained that 2.50 lakh Indiramma houses will be constructed in the second phase. He revealed that 2 thousand houses will be constructed in each assembly constituency. He also said that special priority will be given to the roof replacement scheme. He said that 500 houses will be constructed in each constituency. Thus, 50 thousand families across the state will benefit. Rs. Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that assistance of up to Rs. 2 lakh will be provided. He said that the government will also include houses left unfinished in this scheme. He said that the beneficiary is the house builder. He said that construction will be carried out under the BLC system. Minister Ponguleti explained on this occasion that permission will be given for G+1 constructions in towns if necessary.
