H-FAST Raids Fake Spice Units in Hyderabad And Seizes Over 25 Tonnes Of Adulterated Masalas

Hyderabad : Hyderabad CP Sajjanar said that lightning raids were carried out under the auspices of H-FAST on adulterated masala manufacturing centers in Hyderabad. He said that inspections were conducted in 13 spice trading companies. He said that a special drive was launched based on public information. It was revealed that more than 25 tons of adulterated spices were seized. He said that three people were arrested in adulterated spice cases. He revealed that three cases have been registered in Mailardevpally and Balapur police stations. He said that adulteration was found in many spices including cumin, cumin, cloves, shajeera and mustard. Harmful chemicals were found in those spices: CP Sajjanar said that spices are being manufactured with fabric dyes and synthetic colors. He said that talcum powder, industrial dyes and rice bran oil were found to be used. He said that harmful chemicals are being used to make spices shiny. He said that they are being sold as quality spices by adding dyes. He said that more than 89 tons of raw materials have been seized. He warned that strict action will be taken under the Food Safety Act. He revealed that samples of adulterated spices have been sent for lab tests. Cancer with these spices: CP Sajjanar warned that adulterated food poses a threat to the liver and kidneys. He said that these spices are a risk of cancer, allergies and digestive problems. He said that inspections were conducted in 659 areas in the 140 days since the formation of H-FAST. It was revealed that 202 FIRs have been registered and 246 tons of adulterated food have been seized. CP Sajjanar said that people should immediately complain to him about suspicious food.
