Tragedy struck in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. A stampede broke out at the Ashok Dham temple on Monday morning due to a large influx of devotees. Seven people lost their lives and many were injured in the incident. A large number of devotees had come to the temple on Monday in the month of Shravan. The exact cause of the accident is not yet known. Some say that the barricade collapsed due to the sudden rush of devotees and the stampede took place. Others say that an electric wire in the temple premises was cut and they were electrocuted. Authorities and rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.
