Prakasam district’s aggressive growth rate.. CM Chandrababu praises it..

Amaravati : Prakasam district is leading the growth rate in Andhra Pradesh. It has surpassed other districts with better performance in agriculture and allied sectors and has taken the lead in the rankings. This was revealed in a discussion on the state’s economic development at the Collectors’ Conference held at the Amaravati Secretariat today (Thursday). AP Finance Department Principal Secretary Piyush Kumar told CM Chandrababu Naidu that Prakasam district has made significant progress in the Gross Value Added (GVA) of the districts.

Piyush Kumar explained that Prakasam district has improved its rank if we look at the quarterly results of last year and the current financial year in the agricultural and allied sectors. In the financial year 2025-26, Prakasam district stood at 7th position with a GVA of Rs. 2,388 crore. He said that in the first quarter of the current financial year, it achieved a GVA of Rs. 3,202 crore. This is a growth of 34.09 percent compared to last year, with which the district has moved up from 7th position to 5th position. He said that this growth was possible due to the increase in production and economic activities in the agricultural and allied sectors.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu responded positively to the improvement in the growth rate of Prakasam district. He said that this is a good development. He suggested that the districts lagging behind in growth rate should take inspiration from the progress achieved by Prakasam. CM Chandrababu ordered the officials to work hard to speed up economic activities in all districts and improve development results.
