Telangana Defence Force will contest in Khairatabad by-election: Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s statement

Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena will contest the upcoming Khairatabad Assembly by-election, party president Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced. She said the party would field its own candidate in the by-election. Kavitha also commented on the political developments surrounding MLA Danam Nagender and his change of party. She criticised the practice of a candidate winning an Assembly election on the ticket of one party and subsequently contesting a parliamentary election from another party. She said such political moves were not justified. Responding to the Election Commission’s revision of the electoral rolls, Kavitha alleged that some voters’ names were being removed because of clerical errors. She also claimed that there was concern among sections of the public that voter deletions were being carried out in a coordinated manner with the alleged support of the BJP. Kavitha called for greater transparency in the voter-list revision process and stressed the importance of protecting eligible voters’ rights.
