Hyderabad : Former minister and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has criticised the Telangana government over concerns surrounding the protection of heritage structures, including the historic Ramappa Temple. In a post on social media platform X, KTR alleged that the government was now targeting natural resources beneath the land after what he described as the exploitation of land resources. He further alleged that steps were being taken that could threaten heritage structures. KTR accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of pursuing policies that could affect Telangana’s historical and cultural heritage. He said efforts would be made to protect Ramappa Temple and indicated that his party would mobilise public support over the issue. The allegations were made by KTR in his social media post and represent his political position on the matter.

Ramappa is under serious threat.. KTR expressed his anger that the Congress government is preparing to set up an open cast coal mine very close to the Ramappa temple. He warned that excavations and blasting at a depth of a few meters will pose a serious threat to the Ramappa temple and Ramappa tank, which are a symbol of Telangana architecture and recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. He stated that the BRS party will oppose these conspiracies to destroy the heritage. KTR warned that if the proposal for an open cast coal mine, which will harm the famous Ramappa temple, is not withdrawn immediately, a large-scale movement will be launched.
