Hyderabad : Hyderabad CP Sajjanar said that a gang supplying ganja across the country through speed post has been arrested. Speaking to the media on Thursday, he said that H-Fast officials and Gudimalkapur police conducted a joint operation and arrested the accused. He said that ganja is being delivered to the door through speed post. He said that Satyam Mishra from Jharkhand has been arrested. Satyam Mishra, who completed his intermediate, worked as a painter and quit. He said that after that, he worked as a lorry driver. Mishra, who got addicted to ganja in 2018, formed a syndicate with Rahul Jai, Sachin Mishra and Santosh and planted ganja in his own village. He said that he grows ganja with many people in the village, buys it and supplies it to customers. He said that four other accused are absconding. He said that ganja is being supplied to 21 states through speed post and courier services.


Sajjanar said that they are supplying ganja to many cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore. They are deceiving postal officials by giving false declarations that there are medicines in the parcels. They have found that parcels were booked through speed post from Isri Bazaar and Phusro post offices. They said that orders are taken through WhatsApp and social media and cash transactions are done through UPI. They said that they get an income of about Rs. 1 lakh per day. They say that there is a turnover of Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh per month and Rs. 4 crore to Rs. 5 crore per year. They said that online booking is done between suppliers and customers through codes. They said that customers are ordering ganja through various codes on WhatsApp. The CP revealed that the accused bought gold and luxury vehicles with the money received. They have found that the accused have laundered money using several bank accounts and PhonePe UPI IDs. He said that the lack of scanning of speed post parcels received by trains and flights has made the supply easier. He said that a letter will be written to the central departments to implement mandatory scanning of postal parcels. He said that a suspicious parcel was investigated in the SR Nagar and Gudimalkapur police stations. He said that the 2 parcels that arrived in Hyderabad arrived in the flight itself. He said that orders will be issued to all courier companies in the city to scan every parcel. CP Sajjanar appealed to the people to inform the police immediately if suspicious parcels are received.
