Amaravati : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that the ‘Stree Shakti’ scheme has crossed 100 crore journeys. On the occasion, he extended his greetings to women across the state. He said that the scheme had reached this historic milestone with the overwhelming support of women and the approval of mothers. The Chief Minister shared a post to this effect on X. He emphasized that it is a matter of great pride that ‘Stree Shakti,’ which was launched on August 15 last year, has completed more than 100 crore free journeys.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that an average of 24 lakh women are using the facility every day, indicating that the scheme has become an integral part of the lives of women across the state. He emphasized that free bus travel has empowered female students pursuing their education, working women commuting to their jobs, and women traveling for their daily livelihoods. The scheme has reduced the burden of travel expenses and provided women with the confidence and freedom to travel for their needs.

The Chief Minister explained that women have so far saved around ₹3,550 crore through the scheme. He said their aspiration is that every rupee saved in this manner should contribute to their children’s education, family needs, and future. He expressed his gratitude to all the women who have supported the scheme. CM Chandrababu Naidu also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the APSRTC management and staff whose efforts helped make this historic achievement possible.
