Hyderabad : State Labor Minister Vivek Venkataswamy lashed out at BRS Working President KTR for speaking without information on the Singareni issue. He said that it was the previous government that brought the number of employees in Singareni, which used to have one lakh, to 30,000. He said that not a single new mine came up during the previous government’s tenure. He explained that he liked CM Revanth Reddy and participated in the auction and got the mines. He said that the Tadicherla mines were also their work.

Telangana Minister Vivek Venkataswamy, speaking in Hyderabad on Thursday, recalled that BRS MLA Harish Rao himself had acknowledged that Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s revenue had increased during the Congress government’s tenure. He alleged that K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) knew how to misuse the law and claimed that KTR’s assets had increased during the Telangana statehood movement. He demanded an investigation into how KTR had acquired hundreds of acres of land.

Taking a sarcastic dig at K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Vivek said that although KCR had promised to make farmers millionaires, he was the only person who had become a millionaire. He asserted that KCR should explain to the public how he had amassed such wealth. Vivek also questioned what was wrong with football star Lionel Messi visiting Hyderabad. He denied allegations that Singareni funds had been used for Messi’s visit, stating that there was no truth to those claims. The minister accused BRS chief KCR of turning Telangana into a state facing financial disorder. He said the Congress government was struggling to pay interest on the debts accumulated during KCR’s tenure. Responding to allegations surrounding the Labour Board, Vivek Venkataswamy said that a vigilance inquiry had been ordered. He stated that action would be taken as soon as the report was received. He added that officials had been instructed to complete the investigation within two months. The minister also revealed that action had already been taken against some individuals over fake certificates. He clarified that the investigation would cover alleged irregularities dating back to 2018.
