May 27, Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy warned officials on Wednesday to be on the lookout for rain due to the Meteorological Department’s orange signal for a number of Telangana districts. The Chief Minister gave officials instructions to expedite paddy procurement operations and to make additional arrangements at paddy procurement centers. He emphasized the need to have enough tarpaulins on hand to keep the paddy maintained in procurement yards dry. Additionally, he gave officials instructions to move tarpaulins from locations where procurement had already been finished. The Chief Minister urged citizens to exercise caution and alertness in light of the weather department’s warning of high, gusty winds. After Tuesday night’s rains in a number of locations, those who had been suffering from scorching conditions for the past few days had some relief. With rains and strong gusts, the weather in Hyderabad and other districts improved. On Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange signal for a number of areas. Hyderabad, Jangoan, Mahabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Medchal Malkajgiri, Nagar Kurnool, Nalgonda, Naray Anpet, Rangareddy, Sanga Reddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts are likely to see light to moderate rain and thunderstorms with surface winds of 30 to 40 kmph.
