Amaravati, June 1: Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has asked the CEO of the company Robin Khuda to set up an Air Trunk campus in Visakhapatnam. Minister Nara Lokesh met the CEO of Air Trunk in Mumbai on Monday. Minister Lokesh explained to him that Visakhapatnam is suitable in all respects for setting up data centers. He also said that Visakhapatnam is developing rapidly as a data center hub. He said that Visakhapatnam is emerging as an AI and data hyperscale hub. Minister Lokesh explained to Robin Khuda that the work of major projects like Google AI Hub, Reliance AI Data Center, Adani Connect and others are currently in progress in Visakhapatnam.

Lokesh clarified to the CEO of Air Trunk that his government’s goal is to set up 6 gigawatt data centers in Visakhapatnam city. They said that they are focused on developing multi-gigawatt AI infrastructure and a complete ecosystem. Minister Lokesh requested Air Trunk CEO Robin Khuda to set up the Future Campus in Visakhapatnam. Lokesh told Robin Khuda that they have connectivity and infrastructure available in India that is not available anywhere else. He said that they are also preparing renewable energy projects for the electricity required for data centers. It is known that Air Trunk, a famous hyperscale data company, operates data centers in various countries around the world.Minister Nara Lokesh visited Australia in October last year. As part of this visit, Minister Lokesh met Robin Khuda for the first time. After that, the Air Trunk team held discussions with senior AP officials several times for expansion in India. It was clarified that a decision on expansion would be taken after setting up a platform in India. On the other hand, Air Trunk entered India in April this year. The company has projects in Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
