Seethakka review on Women and Child Welfare Department.. Key decisions

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is taking steps to further strengthen the Anganwadi system. Minister Seethakka conducted a review meeting of the Women and Child Welfare Department at the Secretariat. She instructed officials to organize district-wise conferences with Anganwadi teachers and ayas to strengthen the Anganwadi centers further and gather their suggestions. She directed officials to identify and immediately resolve issues related to basic facilities such as toilets, drinking water, and electricity at Anganwadi centers. She also clarified that uniforms for Anganwadi teachers and ayas should be ready by the first week of October.

Minister Seethakka suggested that steps be taken to expedite the establishment of adoption centers in every district of the state. Officials informed the minister that there are currently 17 adoption centers in the state. She directed officials to complete the recruitment process for Anganwadi teachers and helpers at the earliest. Notifications have already been issued in 16 districts, and she instructed officials to coordinate with the district collectors in the remaining districts. The minister also said that a sample survey should be conducted to assess the nutrition and growth of children at Anganwadi centers and that nutrition programs should be further improved based on the findings. She advised officials to utilize every rupee received from the Centre effectively according to the needs of the people instead of wasting the funds.
