Hyderabad : Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the construction of Indiramma Towers will begin in the last week of August. He said the tender process for the Indiramma Towers project will commence through CURE. Speaking to the reporters on Friday,the minister said that, in the first phase, houses will be constructed in 16 Assembly constituencies. He added that the identification of sites in four more constituencies has also been completed. Reiterating the government’s commitment, Ponguleti said the target is to construct one lakh Indiramma houses. He also clarified that there will be no provision to submit applications for these houses after August 10. The minister said that, in addition to Aadhaar, voter ID cards, driving licences, and bank passbooks will be accepted as valid documents. He further assured that if a house is not allotted, the entire Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 10,000 will be refunded. Payments made through UPI or net banking will be credited back to the same bank account. According to the minister, the market value of each flat is estimated to range between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 60 lakh. He also stated that beneficiaries will receive 20 to 22 square yards of undivided land share, which will be registered in their names free of cost. Ponguleti said the Indiramma Towers project will be developed near Falaknuma Palace. He added that the government’s objective is to provide dignified housing to economically weaker sections in well-developed urban areas.
