State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Telangana has convened its 50th Quarterly Review Meeting for the quarter ended June 2026 to review the performance of Banks, today i.e., on 19.08.2026, at Praja Bhavan, Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister called banks to align with the State’s “Telangana Rising 2047” vision of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047, stressing that financial performance must be judged by outcomes such as rural income growth, women’s entrepreneurship and job creation along with target fulfilment. He reviewed progress in agriculture (₹52,337 crore, 28.91% of target) and MSME lending (₹91,374 crore, 39.64% of target), flagged high agricultural NPAs, and urged timely, proactive credit to farmers and MSMEs, reactivation of inactive Business Correspondents, and a shift from welfare to enterprise finance for Self-Help Group. Further, he said Telangana is emerging as a prime destination for global and domestic corporate investment with major infrastructure projects such as the Musi riverfront, Future City, Regional Ring Road and Metro expansion. He appealed to emphasize the importance of achieving set objectives of Telangana Rising 2047.


While speaking on the occasion, Shri Sandeep Kumar Sultania, IAS, Principal Secretary (Finance), Govt. of Telangana, urged banks to play pivotal role in achieving Telangana vision 2047. He appealed Banks to align their Annual Credit Plans in line with the State’s Vision 2047. He said that currently the State growing at 10-11%, he aspired banks to support to achieve 13% growth rate through stronger, targeted lending. Sri. Chinmoy Kumar, Regional Director, RBI, Hyderabad emphasized that under the revised Lead Bank Scheme framework, banks must designate a specific senior functionary to represent them in District Consultative Committee (DCC) meetings. He also highlighted the importance of Credit–Deposit (CD) ratio to be reported at the place of credit utilization and cautioned banks for accurate reporting. He called for urgent action to address inactive Business Correspondents (BCs) and fill gaps in unbanked revenue centres. Banks directed to appoint fixed BCs where ever required and improve the share of women BCs, in line with NSFI 2025-30 objectives in a phased manner. He urged all stakeholders to work in collaboration and prepare a database of MSME operating on identified MSME Clusters with an objective to saturate all eligible MSMEs with formal Institutional Credit. He appealed banks to prioritize ReKYC of overdue accounts and to improve the settlement of unclaimed deposits. Ms. D Divya, IAS, CEO, SERP, Govt. of Telangana, Ms. Manasa Gangotri Kata, IRS, Director, DFS, Govt. Of India and Shri. B Uday Bhaskar, CGM, NABARD, Hyderabad also spoke on the occasion.The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Shri Gyaneshwar Prasad, DGM (ABU & GSS), SBI Telangana.
