Hyderabad : Telangana government has given the green signal for the first phase of the Musi Revival Project. It has issued official orders granting administrative approvals of Rs. 7,345.12 crore for the Musi Riverfront Project. Musi development work will be undertaken in Zone-1A and Zone-1B priority corridors. Development work will continue for 9.20 km from Himayatsagar to Bapughat and 11.80 km from Osmansagar to Bapughat. Riverfront work will be done in a total of 21 km. priority stretch. The government has given approval for Rs. 7,345.12 crore excluding land acquisition cost. Out of this, Rs. 4,500 crore will be taken as a loan from ADB, while the remaining Rs. 2,845.12 crore will be taken as a loan from HMDA or TGIIC. The Musi Riverfront works will be carried out under the EPC mode. The government has approved the appointment of a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) to supervise the project. The government has issued instructions to MRDCL to take further steps in this regard.
